An earthquake measuring 5.7 shook Costa Rica today, but the damage is relatively minor. It was 11:24 am when the quake was felt, which sent people in buildings an on to the streets.

The epicenter was 58 miles west of David in Panama.

"It was pretty strong and caused a scare but so far we've only had calls to report minor damage from items falling," said Luis Madrigal of the Red Cross in the Costa Rican city of San Vito de Coto Brus, near the epicenter.
