A 5.9 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Japan; about 18 miles from Honshu. No tusnami warnings have been issued.

A moderate to strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 has struck 18 miles from Honshu, Japan

The earthquake hit at 6:52pm, with the epicentre off the Pacific Ocean, and about 30 km below sea level.

Yes we felt that here, it was of intensity 3 to 4 and magnitude 5 here in Chiba and we did get rocked. The third strong Earthquake in the last 32 Hours.

Feb. 1 (Bloomberg) -- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck east of Japan at a depth of about 35 kilometers (21.7 miles), according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 6:51 a.m. local time about 170 kilometers northeast of Tokyo, the USGS said.

Japan’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency, Nippon Oil Corp., Tokyo Electric Power Co. and Tohoku Electric Power Co. said there were no immediate reports of damage.
