What we do for fun in Oswego

Fulton, New York has seen 55 inches (over four feet) of snow over the past nine days. Upstate New York is no stranger to long, cold winters, but it is unusual for a city to get more than half of its expected annual snowfall all at once like this. The forecast for Fulton, and the rest of Oswego County, is for more snow.

Because Fulton, NY is located near Lake Ontario it receives significant "lake-effect snow".  It averages more than 100-inches per year.
Burlington, VT has seen all-time record snowfall of 33 inches during the last storm.
Most Vermonters took it in stride. Others took it too far: Vermont State Police cited a man after stopping him pulling a sled -- with a rider in it -- behind his car on Interstate 89 on Sunday. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.
The entire region has been slammed by the weekend and early-week snowfall, which has snarled traffic and travel, closed schools, and affected power plants.
Meanwhile, technicians worked to get two nuclear power plants in New Jersey back to full power Monday after ice in a nearby river interfered with the facilities.
