6.1 Earthquake hits Indonesia's West Papua Province

A 6.1 earthquake has hit Indonesia's West Papua Province according to the US Geological Survery. There are no reports of damages or injuries at this time.
The 6.1-magnitude quake was the latest in a series of powerful tremors and aftershocks to have hit the region since Sunday.
The quake hit at 7:48 am (2248 GMT Tuesday) just off the coast, some 75 kilometres (50 miles) west of the region's main city of Manokwari.
After the earthquakes on Sunday, thousands of people are still living in makeshift houses, and there is a fear that continued tremours such as this one could cause already weakened buildings to collapse. They could also trigger a tsunami, but that is less likely as the quakes get smaller.
One person died in the earthquake on Sunday and about 50 were seriously injured.

Our Mexican Scientists say our 5.6 earthquake was not related to this one, but aren't we part of the same planet?

I think they must be part of the same plates, but have different fault lines, but you would think that earthquakes in such close time frames would have some connection.
