Storms in Colombia have caused the death of 7 people.

Seven people including three children died in Colombia due to heavy rainfalls, according to Colombian rescue team Friday.

In Colombia's southwestern city Cali, one person and a four-year-old boy died while two others were injured when their home was destroyed in a landslide caused by the continuous rainfalls, said the rescue workers.

The emergency headquarters of Antioquia province reported two deaths of minors and two death of adults caused by floods in Medellin and San Luis municipality respectively.

"The head of Emergency Department had alerted the mayors, the local disaster prevention committees and the community, so that they could watch out for the the rivers' water level and overflows," said the spokesman from the department.

In the northeastern Santander province, the committees estimated at least 20 houses in Bucaramanga were destroyed by the landslides and overflows of Oro River.
