Los Cabos, Mexico .- This morning started swimming toward the port of Mazatlan Diego Gonzalez. This is the first time in history that a person swims through the dangerous Sea of Cortez.
Diego González and his team left the city of Anchorage on September 3rd and final goal lead is the resort city of Cancun in a distance of 6 thousand miles riding a bicycle out of bamboo.
This is the most dangerous part of the route for which Diego has a large fitness. The young man wears a special swimsuit and be protected by a network of dangerous predatory species such as sharks.
The swimmer intends to do this incredible journey over 16 days with an approximate distance of 190 miles. Is escorted by a Mexican Navy frigate, with a doctor aboard and enough supplies for the voyage.
Diego Gonzalez will swim 12 hours a day, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. by recommendations of the Mexican Navy, in order to protect and assist him better.
Through this journey Diego seeks to raise money for UNICEF, people grow in awareness about climate change and most importantly, show everyone that nothing is impossible.
