Adding to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

I recently heard about something called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. If you haven't heard of it, have a read. Hopefully the article will make you think a bit about what goes into your garbage.

Since learning about this, we have done away with taking any plastic bags from the grocer or anywhere else. We carry our own and now use compostable bags for your regular waste that doesn't go into the recyclable trash.

This photo was taken in Greece three years ago when we took a sailing trip...within three hours out of the harbour (on a 21 day trip) we had snagged a plastic bag and were forced to limp into a small harbour and dive to clear the prop.

The world is not always so beautiful.....
