Malaysia

Heartwarming story from the  floods in Malaysia.

Amazing pictures have been captured of an orangutan catching a rope thrown to her by humans and swimming across a flooded river to save her baby.

It is a long-held belief that orangutans are petrified of water, but the WWF officials in Malaysia who threw her the rope said the mother did not appear to even hesitate before leaping into the river with her baby on her back.

Clinging to the rope, the mother orangutan made sure the baby's head was above the water as she dog-paddled towards the river bank and scrambled up to safety.

Nothing surprises me about Orangutans ... but perhaps the limitless cruelty humans can inflict on them ...
