American Kennel Club releases Top 10 most popular dogs list

The American Kennel Club has just released the top 10 most popular dog breads in the US. I have to admit, I'm rather pleased to see that no dog I've ever owned made this list. I seem to remember seeing a few of those breeds on the top 10 dumbest dogs list as well...
Anyway, here they are:

1. Labrador retriever
2. Yorkshire terrier
3. German shepherd
4. Golden retriever
5. Beagle
6. Boxer
7. Dachshund
8. Bulldog
9. Poodle
10. Shih tzu

It's also interesting to note some breeds declining drastically in popularity: Rottweiler registration is down 76%!

I bet because of 'Marley and Me' the Lab popularity has gone up!

Labs have been on the top of the list for many many years

On this puppy, don't know his name, only that he was walking with his mistress by the promenade of Fuengirola, I asked permission to have a photo... and this is the result.
