Animal cruelty: cat shot 27 times with air rifle and lives

In a remarkable case of animal cruelty, a cat was shot 27 times with an air rifle, but survived. It was trapped in a cage and shot at point blank range, twice in the face, and the cat sill has some pellets lodged in its body.

The cat's owner found it and pulled five pellets from its body herself, and doctors have removed more. They don't know who did this to this poor animal.

Greencross Veterinarians principal surgeon Max Fargher is treating Possum. In his 18 years of experience, Fargher told Cairns.com.au, an online news site, that he has never seen such a disturbing attack on an animal.

"In general, this is the worst episode of animal cruelty I’ve ever seen,"

RSPCA, a pet rescue and care agency said recently there have been a disturbing number of animal cruelty cases in the past 12 months. He told Cairns.com.au:

"We’ve had some instances in the last year where the level of violence has been taken to a new level...The extent of the violence of the crimes is getting more intense."

Weirdo serial murderers often start out torturing animals. The authorities need to treat this seriously, the next incident could be a child.

We are seeing more of this every year in the last two decades. We need to rethink our social structures since our society is degrading.

I hope next time this "elite commando" who shot this cat could go to some forest and try to repeat the "operation" on a worthy "enemy" like a wild bore or something - with an air-gun....!

hey my name is jessica and i am 16 year old girl that hates animal cruelty i am doing a civics project on it and i hate how people cant treat animals so badly i started to cry when i heard this story it pissed me off more because it was trapped in a cage and shot at point blank range in the face .

I think the government should become more strict on the punishments for this behaviour i find it just disgusting how they treat other people can do this to percious and innocent animals for absoultely no reason it makes me want to throw up and go after that person i cannot wait to become a cop so i can arrest these SICK FREAKS it it very wrong and i think they should be severly punished for it .

That's my opinion on animal curelty i want to be a person that will defend animals i start to cry at animal cruelty and it is very wrong in so many ways

Hey my name is Amy .I am a 12 year old girl who hates animal cruelty.I got really pissed off when i heard this story and it was even worse that the cat was locked in the cage.If i could find the guy who did this i would shoot him in the head 27 times.i hope that guy dies. But I'm happy and surprised the cat lived. thanks for this story
