Apple says MacBook is greenest notebook ever

Apple has said their new aluminum MacBook is the most environmentally friendly portable computers ever.
The freshly posted campaign page backs up the confident stance by centering on the unibody aluminum and glass displays of the MacBook designs, which together cut down on the number of parts and are easy to recycle versus the plastic and other materials used by rivals.
It also touts the elimination of brominated flame retardants and PVC from the insides of all three models, better power management that includes the LED-backlit displays, and the smaller packaging that lets Apple ship and store more units in a single space than earlier models as well as competitors.
Apple is on a 'green' kick, as they have been the target of Greenpeace in the past for having non eco-friendly products. Steve Jobs has said he will clean almost all toxic materials from all of Apple's hardware by the end of 2008, but it is not known if they will achieve their goals.

Who needs to recycle plastic? Just microwave it and reclaim the hydrocarbons as diesel, etc!

Cool new tech. Beats the old phrase "plastic is forever!"

Yes, that is right but on the Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics Apple made a step in the wrong direction. Far away from the 10 that Steve Jobs like to have as first electronics company.
