Argentina Earthquake: 6.7 Quake September 2, 2011

An earthquake measuring 6.7 in magnitude struck northern Argentina at 10:47am local time on September 2, 2011. The epicenter of the earthquake was 80 miles from Santiago del Estero, and 500 miles from Buenos Aires.

The quake was felt in Buenos Aires, and several buildings were evacuated.

The Santiago del Estero quake was centered deep underground, and no major damage has yet been reported.
