Arizona Plane Crash: 6 Confirmed Dead
Thanksgiving Plane Crash in Arizona
Search and rescue crews were out looking for bodies from the plane crash in Arizona on Thanksgiving morning. All six people aboard the craft are believed dead from the crash, though the only body that has been recovered was that of one of the children.
Update: all six passengers are confirmed to have been killed in the Arizona plane crash: three adults and three children.
What Happened To The Plane and Its Occupants?
Elias Johnson of the Pinal County Sheriff's Department estimated that the plane had been flying 230 mph when it hit the side of the mountain and the fuel started a brush fire which burned itself out. Due to the area where the plane crashed, search-and-rescue were not able to respond until later in the morning. They landed a helicopter and then rappelled down to the fuselage of the plane.
Survivors Unlikely In Crash
There have been no survivors founds, and the crew holds serious doubt that there are any. The one body that has been discovered is one of the children of a father and his two sons and daughter who were on the plane. Johnson was left with telling the somber news.
"I personally made a visit and notification" to the mother "with the information we had late last night," he said.
