ASEAN and in every member country took concrete measures to promote alternative energy like solar, hydro, wind, bio mass and bio energy as well as thermal energy.

In terms of natural conservation, ASEAN also strengthened the implementation of the Action Plan on Trade in Wild Fauna and Flora for the 2005-2010 period in the framework of theASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network mechanism.

The heads of state also agreed to support the management of the ASEAN Heritage Park conservation and to promote the sustainable conservation and management of the ecosystem as in the programs on the Heart of Borneo, Forestry Eleven Forum, and Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security.
