A large tornado hit Auckland, New Zealand on May 3, 2011. The Auckland tornado hit the suburb of Albany mid-afternoon, and cut through stores and homes in the area.

One person was killed and 20 were injured in the Auckland tornado. New Zealand usually experiences approximately 20 twisters a year, but they are rarely as strong as the one that hit Auckland.

One New Zealand tornado video shows the twister cutting through a residential neighborhood, sending a full-sized trampoline into the air.
