The got a rare treat: a chance to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). Due to a solar storm, the Aurora Borealis was visible in more than half of the USA.

If you lived in Alabama, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Maryland, New York, Montana, Ohio, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington, Minnesota, Maine, Michigan, Oregon, Arkansas or California, you can thank your lucky coronal mass ejections for the chance to see the Northern Lights.
