Reported recently on nowpublic now getting a little more coverage:

"If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hybrid virus able to transmit easily to and among people."

Its pretty mad if you think about it, whats the best way to go about starting a global pandemic? Will it happen simply out of sheer negligence by a bunch of muppets? or intentionally by some kind of "terror" organization. This pandemic has been brewing for a while now, and like people have been reporting on here, its just a matter of time before it mutates and spreads far and wide. You'll probably never know where it started from, that is just came out of the "wild", sound familiar?

You know soon there will be too many people on the planet for its resources to sustain everyone? you know can't just keep going like rabbits, right?

The company that released contaminated flu virus material from a plant in Austria confirmed Friday that the experimental product contained live H5N1 avian flu viruses.

And an official of the World Health Organization's European operation said the body is closely monitoring the investigation into the events that took place at Baxter International's research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria.

There's a popular medical thriller novel in which a global pandemic is intentionally set off by an evil plot designed to reduce the human population. In the book, a nefarious drug company inserts live avian flu viruses into vaccine materials that are distributed to countries around the world to be injected into patients as "flu shots." Those patients then become carriers for these highly-virulent strains of avian flu which go on to infect the world population and cause widespread death.

There's only one problem with this story: It's not fiction. Or, at least, the part about live avian flu viruses being inserted into vaccine materials isn't fiction. It's happening right now.

Baxter also is in the hot seat over some "contaminated" heparin products here in the United States; the adverse reactions reported forcing them to recall all lots of their products (except for premixed drip products).

It was found that the adverse reactions were the result of hypersulfated chondroitin sulfate, a modified molecule that mimics heparin. Now here in the USA, there is only one supplier for heparin vials and the cost has tripled.

The chances of these exact strains being shipped out LIVE is so low that one can only conclude that there is a real possibility that it was not an accident.

i assume they are liable. they should have quality systems in place that guarantee this cannot happen. it is clear Baxter has problems.

They've also been testing some vaccines on homeless people in Poland... which killed them all, but the report neglects to say which pharmaceutical company was involved.

A reassuring 'defense' from Baxter?!
