Beautiful, rich farmland is the economic center for Avoca, Wisconsin, but now, they serve a purpose as the fastest way to remove water from the downtown. A perimeter of sandbags prevents the water from returning to downtown. Ideally, with the help of Mother Nature, the water will reside, the soil will dry and late crops can be replanted to salvage the growing season.
