B.C. wildfire spreads to 6,000 hectares, evacuates homes
The British Columbia wildfires have now spread to 6,000 hectares, and three more communities have been ordered to evacuate due to the aggressive blaze.
The fire is heading east to Liza, Marshall and Carol Lakes, and over 200 firefighters and 13 helicopters are working to battle the blaze, which has been burning since last week.
An evacuation order has been issued for Marshall Lake, Liza Lake and Carol Lake and remains in effect for Mud Creek, Tyaughton Lake and Gun Creek Road.
The evacuation alert remains in place for Gun Lake, Gold Bridge and Bralorne.
Strong winds are fueling the flames and firefighters are having a difficult time getting in under control.

The wildfire has grown by 50% in 24 hours and now covers 15,000 acres. It is challenging because of steep terrain in the area. Read more here from UPI.com at 8:51pm EST.

I do not like the sound of this and the consequences may be even worth for the wild life.

Sailboats returning from a day at Boundary Bay in South Surrey, Canada. Smoke from central BC's Tyaughton forest fire make for a hazy, orange sunset.

I was just taking a walk around 8:00PM and the smoke in the valley, unfortunate as it may be, made for a great shot.
