Bald Eagle, Vancouver Harbour

Readers curious about where these wild bald eagles I have been filming can be found in such abundance can see in this video . . . .

Starting in spring and lasting until about mid-September, the tides in English Bay go out so far as to completely expose the channel markers. A person can walk on pristine rippled sand that is normally under about two meters of water to where various tankers and ships are at anchor.

One day in May I had the opportunity to film a bald eagle taking a moment to view over the seascape from atop a channel marker. As summer progresses the tide stays out for longer, but - with the weather being better - there are only more people (and dogs) to keep the eagles away.

Regardless I take any chance I can grab to run down the hill from my house and check on what our local eagles are doing!
