w/b 16th Feb - The original picture (which I'll put in the comments) was taken whilst trying out my new 50mm f1.8 lens. I had several attempts and this one (at f5.6) seemed to get the balance right between background blur and being able to make out the sheep!
Here's what I did with the post processing:
- Duplicated the background
- Altered the levels to deepen the contrast
- Changed the layer mode to Grain Merge to give the slightly blown-out effect
- On a new layer, added a gradient over the sky and set to overlay to brighten everything else further
- Added the now mandatory vignette later in Overlay mode, but this time with transparent to black rather than white to black
That's all folks.
