maybe curiousity killed the cat,
but man killed the whale.
you dont see whales going around killing humans because the like scuba diving.
this behaviour is unexceptable, those whales had lives yet we take it away without the blink of an eye

You idiot! If you were dying in the sea because you were caught in a net would you rather wait out a slow and painful death or be rescued by someone? If in the end after all their help and effort they could not save you would you want them to walk away and ignore your plight?

The whales would have died in any case. Whales don't live on beaches, but in the oceans, and they would not have been able to free themselves on their own. The people who were there saved several of them. Without intervention, they might have taken days to die, and all of them would have died. Killing them eased their suffering and kept the rotting carcasses from attracting sharks near to the shore. The people involved in the rescue attempt managed to free many of them, but many of the ones that were freed just stranded themselves back on the beach. I live in the vicinity, so I am aware of the effort that went on to save them.

The whales were stranded, they were dying a slow and painfull death, so which complete idiot would stand by and watch this? Thank god for sensible humane people in the world!
