It is possible this huge
snowstorm could  drop two
feet of snow on Washington
DC  and the surrounding areas
of Virginia and Maryland. It
could be days before traffic
can return to normal.

The federal government dismissed nonemergency employees four hours early Friday as a  storm was expected to blanket the region with 20 to 30 inches of snow. The National Weather Service forecast near-blizzard conditions with heavy snow, high winds and low temperatures

Mail delivery was suspended in  Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., Southern Maryland Saturday according to CNN news. Thousand of people in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania lost electricity after snow caused power lines to fall. This storm could be a near record.

Amtrak canceled all southbound trains from Washington to Richmond, Va., where the storm got an earlier start as well as north and southbound Northeast Regional trains between Richmond and Boston.

Each hour brings even

worse news for this

blizzard.  Maryland has

called out over 500 National

Guardsmen with over 100 vehicles.

Maryland is under a state of emergency today as an "extremely dangerous" winter storm hit the area with as much as  2 feet of snow. Total snowfall measurements around the state varied from a low of 5 inches in Salisbury to 32 inches in Elkridge

Some will claim it does but in fact it is normal weather for winter.  We have some of these each year.
