Black bear spotted in Aiken County, SC

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C.---A black bear was spotted Sunday afternoon off the 118 bypass in Aiken County, and there was another sighting tonight near Beech Island.

Stephen Holmes and Amy Burroughs sent us pictures of the bear they saw on Sunday. We aren't sure if it's the same bear that was seen tonight.

The sheriff's office and animal control decided to leave the bear alone. It's bear breeding season, and if it's a male, he could have charged anyone getting near.
