on the blues

In the evening, while working as a security officer, I often take my Canon Powershot G9 with me on my foot patrol around my client's property. Criminals don't like to see it in my hands, but most insects just ignore it, as long as I don't make too many quick movements or get too close to their activity. This photograph was taken at a private residence in Tanglewood, an upscale subdivision in Houston, Harris County, Texas, at around 7:30 p.m. While honeybees were very scarce around Houston in the Spring, they seem to have bounced back and I have observed quite a few of them recently.
