Branson set to launch green consulting group
I'm skeptical as to whether you can create a zero carbon resort, but I like Bransen's environmental consultancy business. I don't know why other consutancies like Accenture, etc. don't pursue this more agressively. For that matter why don't NGO's (like the Suzuki Foundation here in Vancouver) don't move down this path. It would help them achieve there objectives and make them less relian on donations.
Richard Branson attempts to position himself as a modern day eco-warrior continued this week, as the entrepreneur signalled plans for a new environmental consultancy business and unveiled proposals for a zero carbon transform Caribbean holiday resort.
According to reports in The Sydney Morning Herald, the Virgin boss is preparing to launch a new division, Virgin Green Owls, this August dedicated to advising businesses and governments on how to deliver carbon neutral projects.
Meanwhile, a Caribbean island is also destined for a green makeover as Branson seeks to transform the uninhabited Mosquito Island into what he is touting as world's most eco-friendly resort.

good stuff kferday. You'll still have to fly to the resort, right?

I would expect so. Unless Branson wants everyone to swim there. Maybe that's how it's going to be zero carbon. Time to hit the pool!

... or maybe guests arrive by balloon... not exactly zero emissions, but fairly close.

Richard Branson was in San Diego earlier this year to kick off the Virgin America's new service out of San Diego International Airport.
