This photography was taken at Enchanted Rock State Park in Fredericksburg, TX. Enchanted Rock was considered a holy place by the native Americans because of the whistling noises made here at night. The cause of the mysterious whistling is the cooling of the rock, which is actually an enormous piece of granite. Daytime temperatures here can reach 110F, and the nights cool down considerably. As the rock cools, the pressure causes a whistling sound to emit from the cracks in the rock.
