Urban food has never made more sense. We should have more local produce and city gardens in this city. I'm glad to see local politicians are supporting this.
Farmers’ markets need a permanent place in Vancouver, said members of three civic political parties at the season’s final market held in Kitsilano yesterday.
Vision Vancouver mayoral candidate Gregor Robertson, a former organic farmer, said the markets need longer-term permits and signage.

This was a chilly Oct. 25 at the penultimate Saturday Farmer's Market in Evanston, on the Lake Michigan shore, just north of Chicago. Shoppers and vendors alike looked forward to next year's market.

Great story. Similar attempts have been made in Delhi. They are encourging agriculture and vegetable farming in & around Delhi.

I love farmers markets but I find them less about farmers selling their produce and more about people selling jewlery, handicrafts and other non "farmers" products. I have been only to the one at trout Lake and the West End. Although driving a long distance to go to a farmers' market kinda defeates the whole purpose does anyone have a suggestion of a market where I can find mostly real produce grown by real farmers?
