Cardboard: Don't Trash It
Cardboard boxes are one of the most common items I see in neighbors' trash weekly. And it is recyclable.
As a child, I remember building forts and houses with cardboard. My nephew and his father once built a huge fort with discarded cardboard. While I take my cardboard to the recycling center, I have used it on occasion for dog and cat beds. Although it is not permanent, the cats love to curl up in their beds in a cardboard box.
A quick Google search for cardboard reveals furniture, boats, robots and other items constructed from cardboard.
Upload images of things you have done with cardboard. Otherwise, please recycle it in 2009.

In Toronto, cardboard has to be cut to a certain size and put into your recycling bin (after your kids and animals are finished with it, of course). If you put garbage or recycling into a cardbox box at the curb, it will not be taken, if left there, you'll be fined. Rules are strict here.
For those of you in TORONTO, here's the link for the Recycling Handbook (PDF).

In NY, cardboard has been a required item for recycling and it must be flattened and tied together; other paper items and such must be separated from regular trash. Owners of buildings, or private homes will risk being fined according to the severity of violations.
