Cheny wanted deletions and pushed for them. His office had nothing to do with deletions. The deletions were made due to concerns about the science validity. In addition, when asked today, top CDC official said she has never been asked to remove one word from anything in her testomony. She related that she has never been asked to change one position. She had concerns about the science enlisted as well. Burnett, a life long democrat, resigned following disagreements with the administration. Is it possible there are sour grapes?

“The President has made the right decisions for the right reasons and he always reflected the values of the American people. Would I support those same decisions today? You’re damn right I would. “” – Dick Cheney<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
“Even a banana Republican would be distressed to discover how much of our nation’s treasury has been siphoned off by our vice president in the interest of his Cosa Nostra company, Halliburton, the lawless gang of mercenaries set loose by his administration in the Middle East. I have known for a long time that the media of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />U.S. and too many of its elected officials give not a flying fuck for the welfare of this republic. “ – Gore Vidal

I wonder how they feel about it now after a record tornado season, fire season, flood season. Probably still not convinced?
