Chicago is currently experiencing airport chaos today with hundreds of flight cancellations and delays at the Midway and O'Hare Chicago airports. Over 500 flights have already been cancelled today, and most flights that have not been cancelled are experiencing a 40 minute minimum delay. Chicago is currently under 14 inches of snow. Weather forecasts for the latest Chicago snowstorm currently call for strong winds of up to 35 mph, drifting snow, and hazardous icy road conditions.

City Department of Aviation officials said that between Midway and O'Hare airports, over 500 flights had been canceled by 11 a.m. Tuesday. The FAA reported that flights in and out of O'Hare were experiencing delays of 40 minutes or more, with some trips experiencing much longer waits.

Southwest Airlines have already cancelled all of their departing flights between this morning, Tuesday at 10:00am, and Wednesday at 10:00am. For specific flight inquiries, the Chicago airports are advising flight passengers to call ahead or check their flight status online. Passengers departing from Midway and O'Hare should confirm whether or not their flights are still scheduled, and if there are any delays.
