Clean Up the Philippines Day 2012 now open for registration
Clean Up the Philippines Day 2012 is now open for registration! This year's clean up day is scheduled on the 15th of September 2012!
Last year's campaign was a success! Thanks to our volunteers who have decided to stand up and make a difference in their own local communities. Volunteers of last year's CUP Day joined an estimated 35 million volunteers in over 120 countries simultaneously cleaning up their own part of the world in support of the International Clean Up the World Weekend.
This year, we will again participate in the World Clean Up Day which aims to assist in promoting environmental awareness on national and global scales and help keep our environment in the international agenda.
Aside from the International Clean Up the World Weekend, which is an Australian initiative, Clean Up the Philippines Day is now also part of the World Cleanup 2012 Project organized by the Let's Do It World Team in Estonia. Because of this recent development, Clean Up the Philippines Day has incorporated the World Waste Map in our registration process.
The World Waste Map is a free tool created for you and your friends, your neighbors. It's for everyone to map illegal waste locally and globally. You can simply download the application to your mobile phone via the QR code found in this link: http://www.letsdoitworld.org/mapthewaste
Mapping is easy and fun:
• Map online or with your mobile phone - currently we have applications for iphones and android phones;
• From any place in the world;
• Provides useful data for the cleanups;
• Helps to monitor the illegal waste issue in your area.
To see what's already mapped in your home area or anywhere else in the world, visithttp://www.letsdoitworld.org/wastemap.
Download the waste mapping instructions (PDF) at http://www.letsdoitworld.org/system/files/uploads/mapping_instruction.pdf
What are you waiting for? Register your Clean Up the Philippines Day event now at http://www.cleanupthephilippines.org
Join us and make a difference! Let's Clean Up the Philippines!
And if you are unable to participate on the actual Clean Up the Philippines Day, don’t worry. You can still organize and register a cleanup site at any date throughout the year, thus making every day, Clean Up the Philippines Day!
