I saw the huge black cloud and could smell the plastic burning as I entered downtown so I swung by for a quick look. One boat was totally engulfed and at least one neighbouring boat was beginning to burn right next to a hotel. I snapped a couple of quick pictures just as the fire trucks were arriving and got out of the way - I didn't want to be there if the gas tanks blew! So many people were hanging around the walkway like it was a TV show. As I left I could hear a couple of propane tanks exploding. It seemed to be under control quickly; by the time I was in my office the hot black smoke plume was mostly gone and cooler dirty-white clouds were drifting through downtown.

Local Area residents report they heard explosions and saw thick black smoke at about 8 30 am , Can u tell me about what time u took this picture , was it at the same time the fire depatment were arriving ? would that be about 9 am ?  There I shot a video for my YouTube channel  , I am Orphan Gordie on youtube , a gentleman had told me in the Westin Hotel Starbucks , that he had tryed to put out the fire early on , but was told not to ! Why didn't someone call 911 , as soon as they noticed the fire , seems like they just let this fire get out of control ! province newspaper reported it started at about 8 30 am  and VFD arrived at about 9 am ! WOW !  Good thing no one was on those boats ,
