The coldest winter in 13 years hit the UK this past season, but it is predicted that snow and frost will become less of a staple of their winters to come.

The average temperature this December to February was only 3.1C, which was second only to the winter of 1995, which averaged 2.5C.

February saw the heaviest snowfall in 18 years as well and Peter Scott of the Met Office said that in the future the UK can expect more rain and milder weather, not snow and frost.

"The famously cold winter of 1962/63 is now expected to occur about once every 1,000 years or more, compared with approximately every 100 or 200 years before 1850," he said.

The Met Office is citing global warming as a reason that this season didn't get even colder than it did.

I got up and out of bed with a spring in my step as the sun peeped through my window for the first time in months. While walking outside i enjoyed the warmer tempreture. We all cheer up after the scottish winter for it has been really cold here. However,by 10.0.clock tonight I glanced out my window a white sheet of snow,in the matter of minutes it was teeming down.

The weather is up and down like a yo yo.Wish i was somewhere sunny  and warm,But am not! so i guess i will just go to bed dreaming of a lovely beach and sushine.Lets be honest even the met office is capable of getting it wrong.
