This is a great message to send to Vancouverites and those who visit the city.
VANCOUVER — Mayor Gregor Robertson wants the city to join the “grow food locally” movement. Really locally, in fact.
Robertson announced Wednesday morning that a piece of the lawn on the north side of city hall will be dug up and designed as a community garden that will, in part, produce food that will be donated to people in inner-city areas this summer.

Great idea. Nice to see that it will be tended by volunteers and given to "inner city" types. So does that mean that I will soon be able to do my grocery shopping at the Ivanhoe?

That would actually be kind of interesting.

Good place for a garden. Robertson seems like a decent fellow.

This is a great idea, I am so impressed with how many urban gardeners there are in Vancouver.

The only catch with the "private" urban gardens is that they produce vegitables that are more expensive than buying them from Urban Fare
