A meteorite landed in the Ural Mountains of Russia on February 15, 2014, reportedly injuring 100 people.
The 2013 Russian meteorite struck in the sparsely-populated region of Chelyabinsk. According to reports, 102 people in the area requested medical assistance falling the meteor strike. A zinc factory also collapsed.
Some have noted that an asteroid was supposed to pass by earth today, but it has not been confirmed that the incident is related to the Chelyabinsk meteor crash.
