Help the Wild Wielangta find ways to keep its old growth, high conservation value forest in the ground by applying pressure to the Australian (Federal) and Tasmanian (State) governments to recognise the role biocarbon (stored in intact ecosystems) can play in reducing/offsetting carbon emissions and ameliorating climate change.
Margaret Blakers of the Green Institute and researchers at the Australian National University both provide sensible, reasonable arguments for including biocarbon in government calculations.
The threatened and endangered species reliant on this habitat (swift parrot, wedgetailed eagle, orchid and the stag beetle), will also be sustained, if we can find a better return than currently offered by the woodchip companies.
