Coyotes in Dunbar

Just got this through a mailing list I am on:

"Just a heads up to all our neighbours in the southwest section of Dunbar.

Every morning this week we have encountered a pair of coyotes while walking our dog at 6:30 am.  Tuesday through Thursday the animals were close together and heading south down Highbury Street towards 41st Avenue at a trot and we ran into
them between 37th and 34th.

This morning a lone and young coyote came around the corner on 35th and trotted north on Highbury to Memorial Park, went into the park and headed for the trees at the southwest corner.

Perhaps there was a new litter this year and the young are now establishing their own territory? They didn't come across as threatening or bold and kept their distance but also kept a good watch on us too.  So if you're out and about near dawn, do keep an eye out and keep your dog on a leash, especially if it is of the smaller variety."
