The soil in Kuria is fertile and farmers work hard to prepare and tend their fields, yet they still use antiquated farming methods. Nuru's agricultural experts will train the Kurian farmers in appropriate, sustainable, modern techniques and dramatically increase their yields.

This photo is from Isibania, Kuria District, Kenya. It is a field of one of the farmers participating in Nuru International's farm loan program. Nuru International is a new non-profit humanitarian organization located at the crossroads of innovation and extreme poverty. www.nuruinternational.org

Hi Nuru team,
I am fine again as I went through this blog, I realise you wrote some nice articles on agriculture. As a person I have been to Nyametaburo on several ocassions. Nyametaburo is different now, very lively and more green than it used to be.
War on abject poverty in Nyametaburo is victory to the people of Kuria. Nyametaburo is getting a new face lift. I must say we are happy for what is actually taking place in Nyametaburo, which is not even a teacher per home, but a teacher per 10 homes. It is a graduate per averagely 15 homes. The high poverty levels in the region basically makes it impossible for the people of Nyametaburo to even achieve a meaningful life.
To me Nuru is a God sent organization to help scale up the lives of the people and subsequently the children of Nyametaburo, thank you and God bless you.
