Detroit River and Skyline

One of the best things about visiting Windsor, Ontario, is the fabulous view of the Detroit River and the Detroit, Michigan skyline, dominated by the International Headquarters of General Motors. This beautiful river joins Lake Huron (via Lake St. Clair), and Lake Erie. It also divides (come say connects) the Motor Cities of Canada and the USA. Detroit/Windsor is the largest metropolitan area on any international border in the world.

The Detroit River offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming. It is also the an important corridor for freighter traffic, and the source of water for the cities along its banks.
