My family and I were in this storm returning home. We raced out of town at 80 miles an hour, spotting a tornado, not it our path, right out of town. I can't believe the devistation and glad that no one was killed or seriously injured. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone effected by the storms. God Bless.

I am a writer looking for pic and stories about the Dickinson 2009 tornado. This tornado seemed to be a jumper that basically traveled a west-southwest direction. Over 50 homes were destroyed with two injuries and no fatalities. Generally, there are 22 tornadoes in North Dakota yearly; however, most of them are in the eastern part of the state because there is more humidity there. This year is different, though, as there have been heavy rains every week for months in southwestern North Dakota.
