This is Dillingham Airfield and Mokuleia beach on Oahu. This whole area has amazing diving, surfing, fishing, swimming, hiking and camping. Many scenes on Lost were filmed right here in this view as the glider dscended toward the runway. In the distance is Waialua and Haleiwa. Mt. Ka'ala is on the right and the backbone of the Ko'olaus in the far distance.

When I was 5 years old in 1954 my family lived in the old fire station. My Father was in the Air force and had the tough duty of keeping the water supply safe and making sure no one was racing up and down the runway. I can remember the navy launching small target planes and the army shooting them down. I could play in my yard and see aa flax in the sky, when they hit one a parachute would pop out and it would float to the ground.
What a great place to live. I never wore a shirt. I looked like a native except for the blond hair and blue eye.I lived in paradise and didn't know it
