Reporting at their 31st annual end-of-winter survey, US-based organizations National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), stated that over 90 percent of Arctic sea ice is now only one or two years old, with only 10 percent being older, thick ice.

This year’s cover is thus not expected to last the summer season. Moreover, as less and less ocean is covered by the sunlight-reflecting ice, more heat is absorbed, leading to further changes in climate and ecosystems. Already, summer temperatures in the Arctic have increased as much as nine 9 degrees Fahrenheit more than predicted by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC). As stated by Dr. Walt Meier of the NSIDC: “We're in a very precarious situation.”

Once triggered, this cycle could result in runaway global warming the likes of which even the most pessimistic doomsayers aren't talking about.

An apocalyptic fantasy concocted by hysterical environmentalists? Unfortunately, no. Strong geologic evidence suggests something similar has happened at least twice before.

We are fooling ourselves with the thoughts that we can solve the issue with insigficant things like reducing emissions, and by stopping pollution. You are blinded - by what I don't know. Becuase every piece of infomration is available to you - though for some reason you choice not to read it. HOW ABOUT YOU STOP POLLUTING YOURSELVES.

There are enormous quantities of naturally occurring greenhouse gasses trapped in ice-like structures in the cold northern muds and at the bottom of the seas. These ices, called clathrates, contain 3,000 times as much methane as is in the atmosphere. Methane is more than 20 times as strong a greenhouse gas as carbon dioxide.

I will make this simple for you - our Earth is heating up. Yes. We know that. We can see that. Global Warming is serious, we can no longer hide from that fact. The great thing is, that humans want to help. But they are doing the wrong things.

The reason why global warming is so alarming - is due to the fact that it will melt the ice. There is now evidence that by US Summer, the major shelf in the arctic will break. This is serious, as witnessed in the above statement, methane is trapped in the ice shelves, a realese of this - will be like a steriod injection into the atmosphere that will have dire consequences.

The most recent of these catastrophes occurred about 55 million years ago in what geologists call the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), when methane burps caused rapid warming and massive die-offs, disrupting the climate for more than 100,000 years.

The granddaddy of these catastrophes occurred 251 million years ago, at the end of the Permian period, when a series of methane burps came close to wiping out all life on Earth.

And yet - what are you doing about it. Wasting your time with projects that have no real goverance on the outcome of global warming. You don't have to - that is thing. You don't have to waaste your time, you can be out there enjoying your life having a great time. All you have to do is stop eating meat.

Says Henning Steinfeld, Chief of FAO’s Livestock Information and Policy Branch and senior author of the report: “Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems. Urgent action is required to remedy the situation.”

WE MUST STOP GLOBAL WARMING - the quickest way is to be a Happy Lil Veggie.

When emissions from land use and land use change are included, the livestock sector accounts for 9 percent of CO2 deriving from human-related activities, but produces a much larger share of even more harmful greenhouse gases. It generates 65 percent of human-related nitrous oxide, which has 296 times the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of CO2. Most of this comes from manure.

And it accounts for respectively 37 percent of all human-induced methane (23 times as warming as CO2), which is largely produced by the digestive system of ruminants, and 64 percent of ammonia, which contributes significantly to acid rain.

Well - we are faced with choices - and it seems many need to understand what we can truely do to make a difference. Its not that hard.
