Another one of Saskatchewan's beautiful sunsets. January near Estevan. Oil production, coal mining, and coal power plants dominate the local economy. In some ways, the spectacular sunsets you see every night (Estevan is home to the most hours of sunshine in Canada), provide outstanding contrast against the economy. I have dozens of these scenes, I'm still waiting for the ultimate. Next time I'm out there I've got to get close to the power plant, or some of the massive wheel bucket mining operations.

While I'm on the topic, it was announced (http://www.saskpower.com/aboutus/news/2006.shtml#) that the province's new clean coal power plant will be built in the area.
