Cornwall-Watergate Bay-Storm Smashes Jamie Oliver's 15 Restaurant

The Duchy Of Cornwall - Watergate Bay - March Storm 2008 Hits Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant - The Biter Predictably Bitten.

As foretold here at CornwallNews, the 15 Restaurant building at Watergate Bay, Cornwall, has experienced a near terminal pounding by the Atlantic Ocean - climaxing on March 11th 2008. It is doubtful whether the Fifteen Restaurant building is now insurable by any underwriter acting for an insurance company with the wider interests of policy holding premium payers as its first priority.

The video here shows some of the damage caused to the building - the associated ' extreme ' ' academy ' surf 'school' building being carried away by the sea to the south and then returning in pieces and then being pummelled to matchwood - second floor features of the building being taken apart and various site furnishings and structural elements bobbing around in the swirling sea along with the wreckage of the ' extreme ' ' academy ' surf 'school'.

The still photographs show the aftermath to the exterior and interior of the building - wreckage from the building and the timber extreme academy surf 'school' - along with boulders estimated to weigh up to half a ton tossed around and displaced by the sea and climbing up the stairs to the 15 Restaurant.

The top floor of the building is less severely damaged. However, its long term integrity must be in
doubt when such an event has so threatened the structure which supports it, particularly with the increasing average wind speeds and increases in sea levels that appear certain to be the invevitable consequences of rising atmospheric temperatures and oceanic expansion caused by man-made global overheating.

As the waves pounded higher and higher up the building the Fifteen Restaurant floor was evacuated.

The footage and photographs here should give all other avaricious entrepreneurs contemplating sacrificing Cornwall's coastal beauty for money, including Mr Oliver himself, pause for thought when they next consider wasting other people's resources on the margins of Cornwall's coastline in the pursuit of further self-enrichment, whether or not in the guise of 'charity'.

CornwallNews, Good investigative efforts. Good stuff. Its madness to invest in this particular location. What happened to common sence.

Greed, greed, backhanders, property prices pushed up beyond reach = local hatred. Why aren't we surprised ?
