The number of people strolling in and enjoying New York City's Central Park last Saturday attests to the need we all have for nature, no matter how much brick and electric connectivity we surround ourselves with every day.

Earth Day is greatly important to our little family, two humans, two dogs. We are celebrating Earth Day this year by taking a walk through our neighborhood and local park and picking up trash along our journey. We will continue to do this all year. We'll also be handpicking the dandelions in our lawn today, as we don't use chemicals on our yard. We let them bloom, then handpick them when they begin to seed. Auggie-doggie our terrier-mix rescue says, “Remember to pick up after your dogs too, when you take walks! My mom ALWAYS does!”

It's Earth Day, so we walked to work today instead of driving.

This image of my daughter represents her environment today. Beautiful, peaceful & very cherished by her. But I fear, that in the near future, the image of her world won't be so serene. She & other children, as well as many of adults, will be paying for all the awful mistakes that we as humans are creating for their future.
The National Geographic Special "State of the Planet" paints are very true but frightening picture of what is happening to our Earth. I highly recommend viewing & learning from it.
Have a beautiful & grateful Earth Day =)

Supporting the Earth Day!
It’s quite obvious that everyone should give his own small support for a better and ecological-compatible use of the Earth’s resources.
We all share the same planet.

I went out on the Earth day to take some pictures of our campus. It's a shadowy cloudy afternoon and after pictured the pond lily I came up to the corner of the pond where I found these lovely candock leaves sleeping on the water. It's beautiful and in the wind they changed the pattern in an fantastic way. So I raised my camera and took it. It reminds me of the space view of your Earth : green or brown or white continents floating on the transparent blue ocean and it will be a better planet if more continent looks green. That's it, that's the story behind the picture and that's my tiny gift to our Earth mother, Happy holiday Gaia.
