Many cities around the world celebrate Earth Hour by turning off their famous monuments and we complied a list that will go dark for Earth Hour 2010. These monuments include structures such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Acropolis in Greece and Christ the Redeemer Statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Here on the west coast of Canada, we are still 12 hours away from our Earth Hour, but for many places around the world Earth Hour has already come and gone.
We will be following it around the world and will update this post with more photos and videos as Earth Hour continues to come and go in different locations.
You can also follow the progress of Earth Hour on our Scan tool below as people tweet about how they are spending the hour and what they are doing or not doing.
The WWF who is heading the project hopes that one billion people will take place in Earth Hour 2010. Earth Hour started in Sydney in 2007 when 2.2 million people turned off their lights.
