An earthquake hit in California today, December 30th and it was felt in San Diego and along the California-Mexico border, including Phoenix and Tijuana. The earthquake measured 5.8 and the earthquake occured at about 10:48am local time with the epicenter about 23 miles south of Calexico and about 20 miles from Mexicali. An earthquake map showing the latest earthquakes in the California / Nevada area.

There were reports that residents in Los Angeles, Orange County and Impreial County also felt the tremor of the earthquake and in downtown San Diego buildings swayed briefly but there are no reports of damage or injuries at this time.

This was the strongest of a half-dozen quakes that have hit the Calexico area in the last few days

I looked up the listing of recent Earthquakes and found the 5 tremors of this AM listed as having occurred in the future. Please check and correct. Thanks, Dieter Brand
