I'm in St Louis and it was a big deal to me! Here I was, minding my own business, surfing the net at 4:30 in the morning, and all of a sudden the windows started shaking, the lamps started swaying and my dogs went nuts!
I took it as a sign - get off the "dang ol' internet and get thee to bed!"
The USGS said the largest historical earthquake in the region -- magnitude 5.4 -- shook southern Illinois in 1968.
