Update: the death toll has been raised to two.
So far, most of those reported trapped have been removed -- including a
43-year-old villager who died after his house collapsed on him, the
interior minister said. The other victim died of a heart attack while
being rushed to the hospital, he said.
Greecewas hit by 6.5 Richter earthquake Sunday that was felt throughout thecountry, including in the capital Athens, but so far there are onlyreports of limited property damage.
The Quake occurred at about 3.25 p.m.
The epicentre has been identified in the north-west Peloponnese inthe town of Andravida and the depth of the quake is estimated at 10kilometres below the surface, explaining its strength.
At least one person has been killed as an earthquake rocked southern Greece, collapsing buildings and causing panic.
Some 20 injuries were reported from falling roofs as the tremor - which had an epicentre 200 kilometres (124 miles) west of Athens - struck near Patras in the Peloponnese region.
